Man, humans are boring. House pets aren’t much more interesting. Bugs can get kind of cool but they’re disgusting. Disagree with any of that? Well, check out these fantastic animals. They’re absolutely incredible. Translucent, colorful, oddly shaped, spiky, wiry, egg-like and completely out of this world even though they’re from our world.
These animal photographs were collected in Ross Piper’s new book Animal Earth: The Amazing Diversity of Living Forms, which showcases hundreds of bizarre looking creatures that you probably didn’t know even existed. Piper told Slate:
Most of the time, if you’re watching things on television, it’s just about mammals or other vertebrates. But that’s only a tiny fraction of animal diversity. I want to show people that animals are enormously diverse, not just in how they look but how they live
You can buy Piper’s book here and see some more photos here.

Being a superhero is a tough gig. You have to deal with evil to the bone bad guys, an unconvincing public who thinks you’re a weirdo vigilante in costume, people’s unrealistic expectations of you to save the world and probably a really tough dating life. But what is a superhero to do if not be a super hero? Well, illustrator Chow Hon Lam imagined other jobs for superheroes and this what he hilariously came up with.
Sometimes we all need this little reminder to get out and enjoy our non-digital lives:
Now that mobile phones are so central to our daily lives, how can the phone booth, an increasingly obsolete and disappearing public object, serve a new, more playful function? Here’s one idea: Phone Booth Aquariums (Evasion Urbaine), installations by Benedetto Bufalino and Benoit Deseille.

Do babies dream when they sleep, or they simply rest peacefully? Queenie Liao, a free-lance artist and mother of three boys living in California, has tried to answer this question by sharing the adventurous dramas that her child Wengenn dreams of during his sleep.
Combining artistry and imagination with photography, Queenie has created captivating photos using plain cloths, stuffed animals, and other common household materials to create the background setting.
Her album – Wengenn in Wonderland – is a compilation of over 100 creative photos that depict the continuous exploration of her son Wengenn in his magical land of charm and wonder. She drew inspiration from other creative mommas like Adele Enersen and Anne Geddes but gave the images her own imaginative fairytale twist.
